The Nippon Ham Fighters announced today that a press conference for 1st round draft pick Shohei Otani will be held at a hotel in Oshu, Iwate on December 9.  Otani is expected to inform the media of his intentions -- the Fighters' official line is that they will also find out what his plans are at the press conference.

People scheduled to attend: Otani, his family, Fighters' GM Masao Yamada, scouting director Takashi Ofuchi, and Hideki Kuriyama.
