The media learned on Sunday that Kosuke Fukudome met with the Yokohama Bay Stars on Saturday. At the meeting, Yokohama may have decided to change their offer from two years at 400 million yen to three years at 600 million yen, effectively matching what the Hanshin Tigers felt would be good enough to lure the veteran to Hyogo.
Fukudome is now expected to sit down with the Tigers. However, GM Katsuhiro Nakamura did tell reporters the other day that they felt they offered him the best possible deal they could put together.

It should be noted that Sponichi is carrying a slightly different story: the Bay Stars met with Fukudome on Saturday and asked him not to end negotiations because they were thinking about improving their offer. Source: Sponichi 12/10/2012
