Sho Nakata had a bit of a rough day on Wednesday (Hawaii time).  The team was scheduled to play a golf competition at Ko Olina Golf Course.  The team bus left the hotel for the golf course at 7:00am.  Nakata woke up at 7:00am and grabbed a cab about fifteen minutes later.  The cab driver got lost along the way and he ended up making it to the golf course four minutes before his tee time at 8:20am.  He managed to shoot a 115 and finished in 25th place.  Source: Sponichi 12/14/2012, Sports Hochi 12/14/2012


Three older women were seen following Yuki Saito around during the golf competition on Wednesday (Hawaii time).  They showed up when he started playing, snapped a bunch of photos, told reporters they started following him since his Waseda Jitsugyo High School days, and left after he finished his rounds.  Source: Sanspo 12/14/2012

Rakuten Eagles

Koji Yamamoto spoke to reporters on Thursday and said that the staff ace should start the first game of the WBC tournament.  He then said that Masahiro Tanaka was the kind of pitcher that could be considered an ace.
