I’m actually the one taking the photo. It has of become sort of a ritual for me to wake up and take photos of the first sunrise. I usually use a shot of the actual sun rising, but I could not get a very good picture this year because of the clouds in the distance. I decided to use a shot of some kids that were also waiting around for the sun to rise.

In hindsight, I wish I had included more of Tokyo Tower in the frame.

Happy new year to you too, Gen! You do an outstanding job with your website! All your effort to keep us up to date with the latest news on pro yakyu are most appreciated. You sure beat, by a large margin, the English version of Kyodo News! Thanks!

    Gen,

Wishing you a Happy New Year from from the US East Coast. Thanks for everything you do. I certainly wouldn’t have been able to enjoy Yakyu nearly as much without your help!

My daughter and I had the same issue with the sun being behind clouds in Yokohama. The sun poked out from under the clouds beyond Chiba for a short time, but not fully.

    Nonetheless, あけまして、おめでとうございます。 Have a great 2013.
