Hirokazu Sawamura will pitch wherever he is told too, but has not entirely given up on winning a spot in the starting rotation.
"If they tell me to go out and pitch, I will pitch wherever they say. But if I pitch well during camp and exhibition games, then I should be able to win a spot," said Sawamura to reporters on Monday.

Kenjiro Nomura plans to decide on the closer situation some time during spring camp, or by March. Takeru Imamura is a leading candidate. Kam Mickolio is an option as well, but Hiroshima is concerned if he can handle the workload. If possible, they would like to use just one of their four foreign player spots for a reliever. I really don’t understand why Yomiuri want to use Sawamura as a reliever, he’s ace material. I would never agree if I were him.
The Yokohama DeNA Baystars are for real this coming season, so jump onboard and join me as my team puts some hurt on the NPB.
