About ninety players and staff headed to Okinawa out of Chubu International Airport today.  Morimichi Tagaki will join the team on he 28th.

Katsuya Nomura spoke in front of the team in November and is scheduled to do it again some time during Ichi-gun spring camp.  His talks will be split into three main categories: pitchers, catchers, and position players.  The Swallows are planning to record the session for players at Ni-gun spring camp.

1st round draft pick Taichi Ishiyama threw forty pitches to a squatting catcher in the bullpen today.  He gained three to four kilograms during rookie training camp.

Michihiro Ogasawara has been working with Kosei Katsuzaki since he started working out in Miyazaki on the 13th.  The two first met in the Nippon Ham Fighters' organization: Ogasawara as a player and Katsuzaki as a conditioning coach.

During batting practice, Ogasawara was seen hitting the ball between right and center.  In prior years, he focused more on taking the ball to the opposite field.  He told reporters he has not been doing anything different this year.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Shun Yamaguchi threw thirty-one pitches to a squatting catcher in the bullpen at Bay Stars Stadium today.  Yamaguchi tossed the session at sixty to seventy percent strength.  This was his first bullpen of the year.

Tony Blanco bumped into Yamaguchi during his visit to Bay Stars Stadium on Friday.  Yamaguchi broke Blanco's left hand last year.

"[Yamaguchi] has apologized.  It can happen to anyone.  I am happy to be on the same team," said Blanco.

Blanco was at Bay Stars Stadium again today for workouts.  He also spent some time signing autographs for fans.

The Bay Stars are worried about the flu and have set the following guideline for spring camp: when traveling, everyone must wear a virus blocker (with neck straps) and a surgical mask; all hotel rooms must have humidifiers; always wash hands and gargle; flu shots.
