The Yokohama Bay Stars announced today that they plan to sign catcher Kevin Moscatel (21) to an Ikusei deal, pending a physical. He has already been assigned the number 115.
"I first want to thank the Bay Stars for giving me the tryout. I felt tense everyday from the start of camp. The GM called me today and I thought I was going to be released, but instead I was told I passed. I felt relieved and extremely happy," said Moscatel.
He added, "But this is not the goal -- I just got to the start line. I want to get myself ready to play as soon as possible. I want to learn how to communicate with the pitchers, learn the team rules, learn Japanese, and learn more about Japanese culture."
