Kenjiro Nomura will is planning to use Ryosuke Kikuchi at both second and short.

"I first thought about going with [Eishin] Soyogi at second, but that could be a strain for him because he is not used to the position.  It might be a little taxing for Kikuchi, but I will have him do both.  So when Soyogi needs a break, he will play short," said Nomura.

Soyogi is coming back from right knee surgery and Nomura would like to ease him back in.

INF/base-running coach Teruyoshi Kuji on what needs to happen in for Takahiro Arai to make it back to the Ichi-gun roster:

Arai needs to join the main group at Ni-gun for workouts.  He then needs to get to the point where he can play in a few Ni-gun games in a row.  There are no plans to bring him up before then.

Arai on his progress:

There is improvement.  I am still not at a level where I can swing at live pitches in games.  I have to see how things go.  I have made good progress up to now, I do not want any setbacks.
