1st round draft pick Shintaro Fujinami worked out for about ninety minutes at Koshien Stadium today.

Fujinami gave his start against Orix on Saturday a 70% -- he was not happy about the two walks he issued.

His next outing will likely come in an exhibition game against Nippon Ham at Koshien on the 9th.

The Ni-gun team played a practice game against Yokohama Shoka University today.  The game ended in a 2-2 tie.

Enyelbert SotoJorge Sosa, Shugo Fujii, Kentaro Takasaki, and Takehiro Fukuda made appearances in the game.  Fujii and Fukuda each gave up a run.

Former Yokohama Bay Star Takahiro Matsuka failed his tryout with the Los Angeles Dodgers.  He attended another tryout with the Chicago White Sox on Saturday.  Matsuka is not stuck on playing for a minor league team and is also considering the independent leagues.
