Pitching coach Kiyooki Nakanishi told reporters on Monday that they will test pitchers for the starting rotation until the 18th.

Right now, the rotation includes Nomi, Minoru Iwata, Messenger, and Jason Standridge.  1st round draft pick Shintaro Fujinami will also probably make the rotation.  That means Tatsuya KojimaDaiki EnokidaNaoto TsuruTakumi Akiyama, and Akira Iwamoto are competing for the last remaining spot.

The Tigers were planning to promote Yuya Ando to Ichi-gun before their exhibition game against Chunichi on Wednesday, but decided to put it off because he is not feeling well.

Kosuke Kato will be called on Wednesday.
