Nippon Ham Fighters

Dai-Kang Yoh returned to the team on Tuesday.  He is expected to play in Wednesday's exhibition game against Rakuten.

Masaru Takeda is scheduled to start an exhibition game against Rakuten at Tokyo Dome on the 21st.  1st round draft pick Shohei Otani will likely follow and pitch an inning in relief before moving to the outfield.

Otani played in a Kyoiku League game against Yokohama at Kamagaya on Tuesday.  He was the starting DH and batted third.  He flied out to right in his first at bat in the 1st, hit a single to right in his second at bat in the 4th, and struck out swinging his his third at bat.

Orix Buffaloes

Mamoru Kishida joined Ichi-gun practices on Tuesday and told reporters that he no longer had any concerns about his left hamstring.

"Things are going well.  I feel good.  I am not worried [about my left leg]," said Kishida to reporters.

He added, "I will get some work as a batting practice pitcher.  I plan to climb each step along the way as I get myself back into shape. ... I am not thinking about opening day.  I just have to keep getting better and see how it goes.  I do not think it will take much time, but I also do not want to rush myself."

Kei Igawa (left elbow surgery last October) is scheduled to toss situational batting practice on the 14th and then on five days of rest, pitch two innings in relief in a Kyoiku League game against Hiroshima on the 20th.
