Yomiuri Giants

Michihiro Ogasawara joined the main Ni-gun team for workouts at Giants Stadium on Tuesday.  If he can play in a Ni-gun game on either the 16th or 17th, he might be able to make it back to Ichi-gun before the end of the exhibition game season.

Ogasawara is making his way back from an injury that required fifteen stitches on his left index finger.

Takuya Asao threw thirty-one pitches in the bullpen at Nagoya Stadium on Tuesday.  He could rejoin the Ichi-gun team as early as Thursday if he gets the green light after a right shoulder examination.

Hirokazu Ibata has been so productive during the WBC that Morimichi Takagi told reporters on Tuesday that he could give him a look at clean-up once he returns to the team later this month.

"Should we make Ibata our four hitter?  He gets the big hits.  Maybe I will have hit bat clean-up in the last [exhibition] games," said Takagi.
