The Ichi-gun team will play their next five exhibition games in the Kanto region, beginning with Orix at Kamagaya on the 16th.

Masaru Nakamura threw thirty-three pitches before Thursday's exhibition game against Rakuten was called due to rain.  Wanting more work, he threw forty-eight more pitches in the bullpen.

Takumi Oshima played in a Kyoiku League game against Seibu on Wednesday.  He was the starting catcher and batted seventh.  He hit a two-run homer to right off Fumiya Nishiguchi in his at bat in the 2nd and hit a single to center in his at bat in the 6th.

Yasuyuki Kataoka's right wrist is still not quite 100%.  He told reporters today that he was still concerned about the wrist and that he felt he was not at peak physical shape yet.  He did make the start at second in today's exhibition game against Chunichi.

Shinichiro Koyama tossed some batting practice before Wednesday's game against Nippon Ham.  The team knew there was a chance the game might be rained out and Koyama wanted some work (he has not pitched in a game since the 6th).
