1st round draft pick Shintaro Fujinami threw seventy-eight pitches through the first five innings of Sunday's exhibition game against Orix.  He ran into trouble in the 6th and was pulled after throwing fifteen pitches -- he faced five batters in the inning and gave up four hits and a walk.

The coaches will begin making changes to Fujinami's routine as they see fit (up until now, they let him do his own thing).  For example, he threw eighty-three pitches in the bullpen on Saturday before his start on Sunday; they are thinking about setting a forty-pitch or so limit on his sessions moving forward.
