Kazuki Yoshimi was apparently removed from Friday's game with a little tightness in his arm.

Motonobu Tanishige has now played in twenty-three consecutive opening day games (twenty-two as a starter).  That is second only to Katsuya Nomura's twenty-four (twenty-three as a starter) and tied with Isao Harimoto.  The twenty-three games is a new CL record.

Hanshin Tigers

Takahiro Arai became the fifty-ninth player in NPB history to reach the 300 double milestone on Friday.  The double was hit in the 7th inning off Kenichi Matsuoka.  His first double came on September 15, 1999.

1st round draft pick Shintaro Fujinami is on his way to becoming the first rookie out of high school since the implementation of the draft to get an Ichi-gun start within the first three games of the regular season.  He threw about forty pitches in the bullpen on Saturday.
