The Hawks played a small April Fool prank on Monday: they announced through Facebook that Kenji Otonari was changing his registered name to Cho! Tonari Kenji (超!隣憲司), a play on his name and the team slogan for 2013.

Chiba Lotte Marines

The Marines will likely start Takahiro Fujioka, Tomohisa Otani, and Yuki Karakawa against Nippon Ham (April 2-4 at QVC Marine).

Orix Buffaloes

Mamoru Kishida rejoined the Ichi-gun team for workouts at Kleenex Stadium on Monday.  There were plans for him to start games this season, but his first assignment will most likely begin as a reliever since the bullpen needs help after playing two straight extra-inning games against Lotte.

Had the Buffaloes stuck with their plans to convert Kishida to a starter, he likely would have been stretched to seven innings during his next outing -- he threw three innings against Hanshin on March 24 and four innings against Chunichi on March 30.
