Yomiuri Giants

Yoshinobu Takahashi visited Giants Stadium on Wednesday to provide the team with an update on his condition.  He still needs crutches to get around, but the pain is slowly going away (left calf strain).  Takahashi likely will not be able to return to the active roster until June at the earliest.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Kiyoshi Nakahata does not know why Alex Ramirez felt the need to slide when attempting to catch a fly ball in Wednesday's game against Hiroshima -- with one out in the 6th, Ryuhei Matsuyama hit a fly ball to left; Ramirez attempted to make a sliding grab (feet first), but the ball popped out of his glove and Matsuyama ended up on second with a double.

"Amateur.  [Ramirez] did not have to slide for that," said Nakahata.

Sponichi has a slightly different quote from  Nakahata: "That was an amateur job of fielding.  But, that it happened is all my fault,"
