Yomiuri Giants

The Giants will begin selling commemorative 1,500 games / 1,500 hits Shinnosuke Abe merchandise (t-shirt at 2,940 yen, a tote bag at 1,575 yen, a mini chain at 630 yen, and a replica ball at 1,365 yen) on Friday.

Yakult Swallows

The Swallows announced today that Yoshinori Sato had his right shoulder cleaned out at a hospital in Yokohama.  The procedure was performed without any complications.  He will require about six months for a full recovery.

Money Square Japan will once again be an official sponsor.  As part of the agreement, the Swallows will host Money Square Japan FX Nighter on April 28 (vs Yomiuri).

The Swallows will be working together with the Tokyo Cinq Reves (BJ League) to help promote sports in Tokyo.  Players, cheerleaders, and mascots will make special appearances at games on April 16 (Chunichi vs Yakult at Jingu) and April 20 (Ryukyu Golden Rings vs Tokyo Cinq Reves at the Ota Gymnasium).

Hiroshima Carp

Kenta Maeda celebrated his twenty-fifth birthday today.  He is scheduled to start a game against Chunichi at Nagoya Dome on the 13th.

Hanshin Tigers

Ryota Arai took batting practice and fielding practice at first base during workouts at Naruohama today.

Arai took about twenty minutes of grounders at first base.  He also made throws to second.  During batting practice, he took sixty-nine swings at the plate.
