The Giants will likely start Ryosuke Miyaguni, Toshiya Sugiuchi, and Hirokazu Sawamura against the Hanshin Tigers.

The Japanese government officially announced that they will give Shigeo Nagashima and Hideki Matsui the People's Honor Award.  The ceremony will take place at Tokyo Dome on May 5.  Nippon TV will televise a special program, which will include footage from the ceremony, between 12:45 and 15:00.

Chunichi Dragons

1st round draft pick Koji Fukutani could make the active roster some time in early May.

Yakult Swallows

The Swallows are planning to sell 2nd round draft pick Yasuhiro Ogawa merchandise.  He will be the first Yakult rookie to get his own line of products since Yoshinori in 2008.  The first items, like t-shirts, could become available some time during Golden Week.

Hiroshima Carp

The Carp will likely start Bryan Bullington, Kan Otake, and Hisashi Takeuchi against the Bay Stars (April 16-18).  Kenta Maeda, Yuichi Hisamoto, and Kyohei Nakamura will likely make starts against Yomiuri (April 19-21).
