Kosuke Fukudome recorded the NPB's 76th (thirty-eighth in the CL; seventh in franchise history) walk-off grand slam in the 12th inning of Friday's game against Yakult.  It was also the team's ninety-ninth walk-off home run.

The six prior Hanshin walk-off grand slams: Fumio Fujimura in the 9th against Hiroshima on June 24, 1956; Junichi Ikeda in the 13th against Yakult on July 29, 1970; Masashi Takenouchi in the 9th against Chunichi on May 27, 1980; Yasushi Tao in the 10th against Hiroshima on August 27, 1988; Tsuyoshi Shinjo in the 12th against Yakult on May 13, 1994; and Glenn Davis in the 10th against Yokohama on May 1, 1996.

Fukudome's two-run homer in the 7th was the team's first at Koshien Stadium this year.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Nyjer Morgan was taken off the active roster because of his struggles at the plate.

"[Morgan] is saying that he is not feeling that bad at the plate, but that does not mean much since he has little to show for.  We will bring him up as soon as [the Ni-gun coaches] feel he is ready to return," said Kiyoshi Nakahata.

Morgan is 5-for-38 so far this year and had just one hit in his last twenty-five trips to the plate.
