Seibu Lions

Kazuhisa Makita tossed a shutout victory on Tuesday without recording a strikeout.  The last pitcher to record a shutout victory without any strikeouts was Sho Iwasaki (Softbank) against Rakuten on Julu 28, 2011.  The last Seibu pitcher was Osamu Higashio on April 6, 1982 against Lotte (five innings, rain shortened game); Shigeo Ishii on June 11, 1978 against Nankai (nine inning game).

Softbank Hawks

Tadashi Settsu will most likely be scratched from his next start on the 27th because of swollen tonsils.  Settsu did not participate in practices on Tuesday and instead went to the hospital.  He will get the day off today and may not be ready to make his next start on the 27th.
