Rakuten Eagles

Going into Thursday, Kazuo Matsui was batting .341 with eighteen home runs and sixty-three RBI at Hotto Motto Kobe over his career.

Matsui led off Thursday's game with a home run and moved into a ninth place tie on the all-time list with twenty-one lead-off home runs (ten in the top of the 1st and eleven in the bottom of the 1st).  Matsui also hit nine lead-off homers in the Majors, giving him a total of thirty over his NPB+MLB career.

Orix Buffaloes

Hikaru Ito took a pitched ball off the area near his left shoulder in the 5th inning of Thursday's game against Rakuten.  He was examined at a hospital and diagnosed with a bruise on his collarbone.
