Yomiuri Giants

John Bowker (right pinky fracture) started his rehab on Saturday.  His workouts lasted about two hours and included playing catch and running.

Yakult Swallows

2nd round draft pick Yasuhiro Ogawa is the fifth rookie pitcher in franchise history to start their Ichi-gun careers with at least three victories and no losses.  He is also just the fourth rookie pitcher in franchise history to record three victories before the end of April.  The other three: Seiji Shibutani (1962), Susumu Sato (1964), and Makoto Fujiwara (1969).

Hiroshima Carp

Kenta Maeda is hoping to return to the active roster in time for a start against Hanshin at Koshien on May 1.  The coaches have yet to decide when Maeda will actually get his next start.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Tony Blanco recorded his twelfth home run in April on Saturday.  The NPB record of sixteen in one month is held by three players.  The franchise record of thirteen in one month was set by Noboru Aota in August 1954.

The twelve home runs hit by Blanco are the most hit in one month since the introduction of the standard baseball.  The previous high of eleven was set by Takeya Nakamura (Seibu) in September 2011.
