The Tigers will likely go with a five-man rotation during Inter-league play.  The first four spots will probably go to, in no particular order, Randy MessengerJason StandridgeAtsushi Nomi, and 1st round draft pick Shintaro Fujinami.  Daiki Enokida will most likely land the fifth spot, but Minoru Iwata may still have a shot.

The Tigers are planning to remove pitch limits on Fujinami some time in June.

The Tigers are thinking about bringing Kosuke Fukudome back during Inter-league play and using him as a DH provided that his left knee is healed to the point where it can not get worse.  Bottom line: they want Fukudome as a healthy position player, not as a bat off the bench or a long-term DH.  For the time being, he will focus on rehab/treatment.

Fukudome began his rehab today at the indoor training facilities at Koshien (electrotherapy and ice treatment).

Coming into today, Takahiro Arai is 14-for-40 with one home run and five RBI in eleven games at Matsuyama over his career.  He also went 3-for-4 with a home run during the 2002 All-Star Game.

Akira Iwamoto and Hirokazu Shiranita could make the active roster during Inter-league play as long relievers or spot emergency starters (particularly during games in which the DH-rule is used).
