Fred Lewis was taken off the active roster on Saturday because of his struggles at the plate.

"[Lewis] is aggressive if he can get on base, but is not swinging the bat well with runners in scoring position.  Right now, he is not starting material and if he cannot hit with runners in scoring position, then pinch-hitting is not an option either.  I would like to see him get his swing back at Ni-gun," said Kenjiro Nomura.

Hanshin Tigers

Blaine Boyer could arrive in Japan on the 26th and could begin playing in Ni-gun games in early June.  If things go smoothly, he might even be able to make the active roster before the end of Inter-league play.
