The media learned on Tuesday that fifty-nine-year-old Keizaburo Tsuchiya will be stepping down from his post as manager of the Toin Gakuen High School baseball team after the summer. The Toin Gakuen Junior High School manager, fifty-one-year-old Kazumasa Ogawa (大川和正), will take over as the new manager. Tsuchiya will stay on as a general manager.
Tsuchiya became manager of the Toin Gakuen baseball team in 1982. He stepped away in 2007 before returning in 2009. He guided his team to the spring Koshien five times and summer Koshien five times. He has managed NPB players like Yoshinobu Takahashi (Yomiuri), Keiichi Hirano (Orix), and Kisho Kagami (Yokohama).
