Morimichi Takagi told reporters after Wednesday's 3-1 loss to Lotte that he planned to call up Naomichi Donoue for the Hokkaido series that begins on Friday.  Donoue could take over at second for the struggling Masahiro Araki.

Yohei Oshima has not been hitting the ball well lately, but his job is safe for now.

"I will not replace [Oshima].  He is a player that will go on to lead the Dragons.  That is why I am playing him every day," said Takagi.

Yokohama Bay Stars

The Bay Stars announced that they are parting ways with I-Cheng Wang (they placed him on waivers).

"We are in a bind where we need starting pitchers, but even being in his fourth year, his name does not come up as a candidate.  We decided it would be best to let him go as soon as possible if he is not going to get a chance with us," said GM Shigeru Takada.

Tony Blanco took a Yusei Kikuchi fastball (152km/h) off his left knee in the 6th inning of Tuesday's game against Seibu and was left out of the starting line-up on Wednesday.  Kikuchi visited Kiyoshi Nakahata before the game to apologize for his HBP.  He also apologized directly to Blanco.

"I am sorry for what I did, not just to Blanco, but also the organization.  There are also a lot of fans that come out to see him hit home runs.  Blanco told me not to worry about it, but I have still caused an unnecessary distraction," said Kikuchi.

"He is a good kid.  I think it was good that he apologized right away.  Blanco was in the hyperbaric oxygen capsule at the time and appreciated the gesture," said Nakahata.
