Ginjiro Sumitani attended full-squad workouts at Seibu Dome today, one day after he hurt the area near his left eye during a close play at home plate.

Softbank Hawks

Hayato Terahara was taken off the active roster today with lower back pain.  Hiroki Yamada will likely get the start on June 3 against Hanshin at YafuOku Dome.

Rakuten Eagles

The Eagles will start 2nd round draft pick Takahiro Norimoto and Satoshi Nagai against the Yokohama Bay Stars (May 31, June 1).

The Eagles finished the first half of Inter-league play in first place for just the second time in franchise history.  The other time was in 2008 when they were tied for first with Softbank and Nippon Ham.

Since Senichi Hoshino took over as manager of the team in 2011, the Eagles are 5-1 at Koshien Stadium.
