1st round draft pick Shohei Otani threw about thirty pitches in the bullpen on Friday.  He is scheduled to start Saturday's game against Chunichi at Sapporo Dome.

Seibu Lions

Cerberus Capital Management's tender offer for Seibu Holdings ended on Friday.  They most likely did not reach their 44.67% goal, but more than likely managed to increase their stake in the company to well over a third.  Cerberus is scheduled to announce the results of their tender offer on Saturday.

Softbank Hawks

Kenji Otonari won his start on Friday but could be taken off the active roster again because he is still feeling discomfort in his lower back.

Chiba Lotte Marines

Naoya Masuda appeared in his eighteenth game of the month on Friday and tied the NPB record set by Kazuhisa Inao in September 1956.  The CL record was eighteen, last set by Kentaro Nishimura in August 2008.

Masuda also set a franchise record with ten saves this month.  The previous high of nine was set by Masahide Kobayashi in May 2001 and May 2006.
