[6/4/2013] Chunichi Dragons, Hector Luna agree on two-year extension with club option for 2016

by on Jun.04, 2013 @ 2:28 pm, under NPB

According to Daily Sports, the Chunichi Dragons started contract extension discussions with Hector Luna last month and are closing in on a two-year deal that could be worth about 400 million yen.  The contract could also include a club option for the 2016 season.

The Dragons' offense took a hit this year when Tony Blanco bolted for Yokohama via free agency.  Luna has managed to take some of the sting away by swinging the bat extremely well during the first fifty-games of the season (83-for-213, .390/.440/.592).
