Yuki Saito turned twenty-five on Thursday.

"I start out not being able throw.  I then started throwing into a net, moved on to bullpen sessions, and then began mixing in off-speed pitches.  The next thing is facing hitters," said Saito.  "I am also beginning to feel a little more at ease."

Saito is expected to tossing live batting practice before the end of the month.

1st round draft pick Shohei Otani threw about fifty pitches in the bullpen during pre-game practices on Wednesday.  He could pitch in a Ni-gun game against Yomiuri at Kamagaya on the 11th.  That would allow him to make his next Ichi-gun start on about six days of rest.
