The Pacific League held a board of directors meeting today to discuss the Central League's suggestion to shorten the Inter-league season to eighteen games. The PL confirmed that they wanted to maintain the current twenty-four game format and plan to inform the CL of their position.
"We will reply to a letter we received from the CL that suggested an eighteen-game schedule was more reasonable. We want to discuss the Inter-league schedule, not just as a singular entity, but as a part of the whole schedule," said Yoshio Murayama, board chairman and Orix official.
