Hiroshima: The Carp's five-game winning streak came to an end. ... K. Maeda entered the game at 998 innings pitched.  He became the 334th player in NPB history to reach the 2,000 inning milestone after completing the second inning.  This was the twelfth double-digit strikeout game of his career.  He is 0-2 in to starts since his last victory on May 26 (vs Rakuten).  This was his first start since June 1. ... Matsuyama collected his second modasho of the year. ... Soyogi and Maru saw their hitting streaks end at six games.  Kikuchi extended his hitting streak to five games.

Nippon Ham: The Fighters won their second straight game.  They have also won three in a row against Hiroshima. ... Inaba recorded the 418th double of his career in the 8th and moved into a seventh place tie with Shigeo Nagashima on the all-time list.  He also became the thirty-ninth player in NPB history to reach the 1,000 runs scored milestone later in the inning.  Source: Sponichi 6/15/2013 ...
