1st round draft pick Tomoyuki Sugano tossed a complete game victory against Softbank on Saturday.  He was the third rookie pitcher to record a complete game this season (Rakuten, Takahiro Norimoto and Yokohama's Kazuki Mishima) and first to toss a complete game victory.  He also became the first pitcher in the NPB to record at least three double-digit strikeout games in his first year since Masahiro Tanaka recorded five in 2007.  He joined Koji Uehara (three in 1999) and Hiroshi Kisanuki (six in 2003) as the only rookie pitchers in franchise history to record at least three double-digit strikeout games in their first years.
