[6/20/2013] Hanshin Tigers News and Notes

The Tigers would ideally like to settle on one main right fielder, instead of a platoon that has, up to now, included Ryo Asai, Kohei Shibata, and Ryota Imanari -- Asai has struggled (6-for-26, .231/.286/.231), Shibata got hurt (left ankle), and Imanari is not an outfielder by trade.  Hayata Ito is an option at right.

Pitching coach Kiyooaki Nakanishi told reporters on Wednesday that he did not think both Blaine Boyer and Yasutomo Kubo would make the active roster at the same time, at least not right now.

Team president Nobuo Minami, team director Eiichi Takano, general manager Katsuhiro Nakamura, and Yutaka Wada met at a hotel in Kobe on Wednesday.  Issues likely discussed: current team performance, the rest of the season, and the 2014 season.  The meeting lasted nearly two hours.
