Seibu Lions

Takeya Nakamura recovery (left knee surgery) is taking a little longer than expected.  The Lions were initially hoping to have their slugger back for the start of the second-half of the season on July 24 (first game after the All-Star break), but it now seems he might not be ready until some time in mid-August, at the earliest.

Nakamura started taking batting practice while wearing cleats on May 18.  He has also started playing catch while wearing cleats.  He is still taking things slow with his running and fielding workouts.

Vicente Padilla will miss his next scheduled start (vs Rakuten on the 22nd) because of discomfort in his right shoulder.  Shota Oba will most likely get the start.
