Tateyama Sogo High School has withdrawn from the Chiba Summer Koshien Qualifier Tournament as the result of an upper-class student beating a lower-class student.  According to the high school, an upper-class student struck a lower-class student in the jaw after practices in March.  The lower-class student developed a bruise and reported the incident to his parents.  The parents in turn approached the school.

Tateyama Sogo is taking the incident very seriously and felt the best thing to do was withdraw from the Chiba tournament.
