August 6, the day the Atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, will be a Night Game for Peace at Mazda Stadium.  Musician Koji Kikkawa is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch and sing John Lennon's Imagine after the 5th inning.

Randy Messenger's start was rained out today.  He is scheduled to start Saturday's game.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Daisuke Miura's start was rained out today.  He is scheduled to start Sunday's game.  Assuming no additional rain outs, Miura might end up facing Hanshin Tiger Shintaro Fujinami for the third time this season.

Miura threw forty-five pitches in the bullpen after today's game was officially called.

Tomo Otosaka was ejected from a Ni-gun game against Nippon Ham on the 19th for insulting an umpire -- he threw his helmet to the ground after he was called out at first on an infield grounder.  He was issued a stern warning and a 50,000 yen fine by the commissioner's office today.
