UPDATE 6/24 @ 6:11pm -
Sports Hochi has posted a portion of Saito's post-game interview with the media:
This was your first outing in quite some time.
There are a lot of things I am working on, but for today, I think it was good that I was just able to pitch. I have changed because of the injury and the people around me have also changed. I feel a little relieved that I have something to show for, especially after getting another chance.
What did you think of the outing?
I feel it was one-hundred percent: I threw with no discomfort or fear.
What about your fastball?
If you look only at that, you might think I still have a long way to go. In terms of velocity, I think it will improve. Looking only at that will worry me.
I need to increase the amount I pitch. I need to be able to go at least five innings.
