Softbank Hawks

Shota Takeda pitched in a Ni-gun game against Hanshin today.  He threw forty-two pitches and gave up a run on two hits over 2.2 innings of work.  He is scheduled to pitch again on July 3 (vs Hiroshima at YafuOku Dome).

Kodai Senga extended his scoreless innings streak to 34.1 on Wednesday and tied the PL record for relievers set by Kiyoshi Toyoda in 2003, but failed to break it when he allowed an unearned run to score.

Tomoaki Egawa was down to his last bat when he knocked out a home run in his at bat in the 9th inning on Thursday -- he was called up and joined the team before the game and arrived with three bats, but broke two during his two previous trips to the plate.

Rakuten Eagles

Ken Ray made his first Ni-gun start today against Seibu.  He gave up three runs (all in the 1st inning) on six hits and two walks over three innings of work.  He struck out four and topped out at 148km/h.  He was also called for a balk in the 2nd inning.
