by on Jun.28, 2013 @ 5:08 pm, under NPB

The NBP and the twelve teams have decided to donate twelve banks of lights to Rikuzentakata and three-hundred transportable fences to Ofunato, both cities in Iwate prefecture.  A presentation ceremony, followed by a baseball clinic, will be held next month (July 6-7).

Open fields in Rikuzentakata and Ofunato have been converted to temporary housing districts for people that lost their homes to the Tohoku earthquake, making it difficult to play baseball.  Both cities were in need of items that would also them to work around these restraints -- the lights will allow available to fields to remain open longer and fences will allow the creation of playing fields in various areas.
