    Jen,

Hello Jen, this is fordmo47 again from the Philippines. NHK World televised this game and I saw the exciting finish. They have shown baseball games for the four out of five Saturdays now.

Is Yamato like Ichiro, wherein his uniform bears his first name and not his last name? But I saw his walk-off game winning hit and it was a well deserved win by Hanshin, coming from behind.

We were in Osaka two years ago and we went to historic Osaka Castle. Are the Hanshin Tigers the only team based in Osaka or are there others? Just like Tokyo, wherein the Giants are not the only team based in Tokyo.

Hanshin’s not really based in Osaka – Koshien’s in Nishinomiya, Hyogo. That’s “close enough” to Osaka to count, though.

Osaka does have a team, though – the Orix Buffalos. They play in the Kyocera Dome (formerly Osaka Dome) in Osaka.

Yamato just uses his first name, yes. There are other players like that in Japan, such as Lotte’s Saburo, Rakuten’s Teppei, etc.
