    Gen,

This game was shown in NHK World in the Philippines. I was quite surprised because this was the first time in my personal experience that NHK World televised two games in one week-end. I only caught the game in the 7th inning.

I am posting this with still no boxscores available. Seibu won 8-4 after being tied by Nippon Ham 3-3. I noticed Bobby Abreu playing. I noticed that the Lions used two gaijin pitchers. Is this allowed? What are the rules again for gaijin players? When I started watching in the middle nineties, the rule was 3 gaijin players with at least one a pitcher.

The current rule on foreign players:

No limits on the general roster and up to four on the active roster, with no more than three pitchers or three position players at any given time, which means one pitcher and three position players; two pitchers and two position players; or three pitchers and one position player.

      Before the current rule:

Between 1952 and 1993, it was up to three players on the general roster and two players on the active roster. That expanded to three players on the general roster and three players on the active roster in 1994. In 1996, it was no limits on the general roster and up to three players on the active roster. Then beginning in 1998 and through to 2001, it was no limits on the general roster and up to two pitchers and two position players for a total four.

BTW: the Abreu you are talking about is actually Michel Abreu, not Bobby Abreu.

That’s pretty cool that they are showing more games. Hopefully they will continue to expand the schedule.
