[7/3/2013] National university team drops two practice games against San-gun Softbank Hawks

The national university team began their mini-camp in June 30.  They played their first practice game on Tuesday at Botchan Stadium in Matsuyama and lost to the San-gun Softbank Hawks, 2-0.  Daichi Osera got the start for the university team and tossed five shutout innings while allowing two hits.  Yudai Fujioka collected two of the team's three hits.

Today's practice game against the San-gun Hawks was called after seven innings due to rain.  The university team lost 3-2.  Ryota Sekiya started the game and gave up three runs (none earned) on four hits over five innings of work.  Toshihiro Sugiura relieved Sekiya and tossed two shutout innings while allowing one hit.  He also struck out three.  The offense managed five hits against the Hawks.

The university team is scheduled to play a practice game against Shikoku Ginko on Thursday.
