Nippon Ham Fighters

Dai-Kang Yoh collected his fourth straight modasho (three or more hits in a game) on Wednesday and tied the franchise record set by Michihiro Ogasawara in 2000.  Fourteen players in NPB history (eight CL and six PL), since the start of the two leagues, have now accomplished the feat.

The NPB record of five is currently held by Michio Nishizawa (1954) and Tadahito Iguchi (2003).

Seibu Lions

Hisanobu Watanabe recorded his 400th managerial victory on Wednesday.  He is the fortieth manager in NPB history to reach the milestone and fifth in franchise history, behind Osamu Mihara, Futoshi Nakanishi, Osamu Higashio, and Masaaki Mori.

Ryoma Nogami was the winning pitcher for Watanabe's 300th and 400th victories.

Watanabe is 400-364-28.

Chiba Lotte Marines

Craig Brazell could make his Ichi-gun debut on the 9th (vs Orix at QVC Marine).  Paperwork for his work visa cleared on Wednesday.  He will see playing time during an upcoming Ni-gun Yomiuri series that begins on the 6th.

"It would be nice if we can introduce [Brazell] during a home game.  He could make the starting line-up as a designated hitter batting fifth or sixth.  I would like to see him hit at least fifteen home runs over the remainder of the season," said Tsutomu Ito.
