Yomiuri Giants

The Giants invited about 1,000 people living in temporary housing units (earthquake evacuees) in Fukushima to their game on Wednesday.  They also donated 3,240 baseballs to twenty-seven high schools in the Fukushima area.

Before Wednesday's game, players and coaches threw autographed baseballs into the stands.

Hanshin Tigers

Katsuhiko Saka committed two errors in Wednesday's game against the Chunichi Dragons.  Yutaka Wada spent about thirty minutes hitting grounders to Saka during practices at Koshien today.

Yokohama Bay Stars

The Bay Stars scored seventeen runs on nineteen hits on Wednesday.  The last time they collected at least nineteen hit in one game was when they banged out twenty-two against Yakult at Jingu on April 3, 2010.  The last time they did it at Yokohama Stadium was when they collected twenty-two against Nippon Ham on June 2, 2006.  The last time they scored at least seventeen runs in one game was when they beat Hanshin 17-0 at Yokohama Stadium on April 7, 2004.
