Softbank Hawks

Koji Akiyama will remain at the helm in 2014.  Akiyama will be in the final year of his second three-year deal next year (not official).

"We feel, and this includes the team owner Masayoshi Son, he has done a good job.  He is in his fifth year and has already won two pennants, a Nippon Series, and three Inter-league championships.  Those are great results.  This is not because we have no reason to change him, but because he has one a good job," said acting owner Kazuhiko Kasai to reporters on Thursday.

Rakuten Eagles

The Eagles are planning to hold full-squad practices at Kleenex Stadium between the 20th and 23rd.  Intra-squad games will be played on the 21st and 22nd.  Ni-gun players will be called up to participate in the intra-squad games.  Players on the active roster, other than those that have secure spots, could be dropped to Ni-gun depending on their performances during the intra-squad games.
