Takeya Nakamura joined the Ichi-gun team for workouts at Seibu Dome on Saturday for the first time since he had surgery on his left knee in October 2012. He swung the bat thirty-three times during batting practice and hit four over the fence. He also took some grounders near short and ran some dashes.
"I still have worries [about the knee]. I am not thinking about any time frames. I would like to play once I am ready to play," said Nakamura to reporters.
He added, "In terms of hitting, I am not having any problems with my knee. Fielding is getting there little by little."
Nakamura is scheduled to work out with the Ichi-gun team again on Sunday.
