Chunichi Dragons

Hirokazu Ibata visited a hospital in Nagoya on Friday for a second opinion on his right ankle and is scheduled to get another opinion from a specialist on the 30th.  Surgery could become an option.  The Dragons are not expecting a quick turnaround at this point.

Daily Sports adds that a number of loose pieces of cartilage was found in the right ankle.  Ibata likely has two options: injections to deal with the pain for a temporary quick fix or surgery.

Hanshin Tigers

Tsuyoshi Nishioka is a little banged up and sat out Friday's game -- he still has pain in his left knee and he fouled a pitch off his right ankle during Game 3 of the All-Star Series.  He is considered day-to-day.  There are currently no plans to take him off the active roster.  He made the starting line-up tonight: second base batting lead-off.
