[8/14/2013] Injury Updates: Nishioka, Uemoto (HAN), Terahara (SOF), Nishino, Iguchi (LOT), Kishida (ORI)

Hanshin Tigers

Tsuyoshi Nishioka (left knee) practiced outdoors at Naruohama today.  He joined the main group for batting practice and took fielding practice at second.  He could play in a Ni-gun intra-squad game on Thursday, assuming no tightness or soreness.

Hiroki Uemoto (left ankle) played in an Ikusei practice game against Osaka Gakuin University today.  He hit a single to center in the 6th and stole a base.  He also made a diving catch in the 2nd.  This was his first game in about six months.

Softbank Hawks

Hayato Terahara on the discomfort in his right knee: "There is not a lot of pain, but I am having a hard time building momentum behind it.  It is an old injury from my days with Yokohama."

Terahara was taken off the active roster today.

Chiba Lotte Marines

Yuji Nishino was taken off the active roster on the 10th with pain in his right shoulder.  His examination on Monday revealed that his injury was not serious.  Assuming no problems, he could return to the active roster before the end of the month.

Tadahito Iguchi had his right elbow evaluated at a hospital on Tuesday and was diagnosed with lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow).  He is considered day-to-day for the time being.

Orix Buffaloes

Mamoru Kishida hurt his right leg while trying to make a defensive play in the 8th inning of Tuesday's game against Nippon Ham.  He was taken to the hospital after the game and diagnosed with inflammation in the ligaments in the tarsus.  There is currently no time table on his recovery.  He was taken off the active roster today.
